Jon Stewart dismantles the idea the NFL isn't ready for a gay player

The American comedian nails the arguments against Michael Sam.

ON SUNDAY, NFL draft prospect Michael Sam came out, potentially making him the first ever openly gay player in the league.

While most pundits reacted in support of the former Missouri defensive tackle, some analysts have claimed Sam will be a ‘distraction’ in the dressing room and that the NFL wasn’t ready for an openly gay player yet.

Thankfully, Jon Stewart ripped into those people on show on The Daily Show last night and asked, if the NFL is comfortable with the distraction brought about by players being implicated in manslaughter, sexual assaults and dog-fighting, then surely it can accept a player who happens to be gay?
